It is possible to route VNC through an ssh tunnel, so if a ssh connection can be established it can work. VNC requires that a one machine be able to reach the other. TeamViewer uses a third party proxy that can be reached from behind a firewall with NAT to allow machines that could not normally connect directly to each other to establish a connection - to the horror and consternation of network administrators overwhere. It works well, and has a different connection model than TeamViewer. Enable 'Run with highest privileges,' and select your OS under 'Configure for. Select the new folder and click 'Create Task' (not 'Create Basic Task') Name the task something descriptive. The other is to, rather than start an X session from startx, I just start a display manager using systemctl without enabling it.īut, to answer the original question, VNC. In Task Scheduler, right-click 'Task Scheduler Library' and select 'New Folder' Name it whatever you would like. One is to spin up a Windows VM and run it there (if you are planning to be a client). Then, when plugged into power on in the field, they no longer have. I cannot start TeamViewer but when I open task manager I see TeamViewer service is up and running but TeamViewer not showing on my Windows 10. They had restarted several times while doing windows updates and the setting kept every time. It is very odd and teamviewer will occasionally start with windows but not always. Recently, I sent out 4 computers and all of them had TV enabled with windows set when they left my office. I have 'Start teamviewer with windows' checked in my options but for some reason it still doesnt always start with windows. And it won't work at all as a server if you are running Wayland instead of Xorg. In my company we prep several computers before distributing them to the field. Right now, Teamviewer for, some unfathomable reason, only works if you start your session with a Display Manager.
